Invasive Species
What is an invasive species and why are they a problem?
Invasive species are plants, animals, and insects that are not native to an area and are harmful to the environment, economy, and human and/or animal health. Invasive species can decrease property value and negatively impact recreational activities such as boating and hiking. Once invasive species are here, they are often expensive and difficult to manage due to their fast growth, ability to spread easily, tolerance of a wide range of conditions, and lack of natural predators to limit their growth.
